As a leading provider in the building industry since 1947, McCray Lumber and Millwork is proud to be a Kansas City construction staple. Initially, the business was made up of three locations in the Kansas City area. Those yards were located at 5201 East 9th Street, 48th and Troost, and the Mission lumber yard on the Northeast corner of Johnson Drive and Metcalf. At the time, Metcalf was a simple dirt road just North of Johnson Drive.
McCray Lumber and Millwork has grown over the past 70 years considerably, more than doubling the initial three yards, and now operates out of six locations throughout the Kansas City, Lawrence, and Topeka Metro areas. McCray’s industry leading locations can be found in Edwardsville, KS, Lawrence, KS, Olathe, KS, Topeka, KS, Fairfax District, KCK, and Liberty, MO.
Still growing today, McCray is currently hiring CDL drivers. In this position, employees will be responsible for making deliveries to job sites, assisting in loading and unloading trucks, stocking lumber, maintaining truck conditions, and more. Applicants must be a high school graduate or have their GED, with one to two years of driving experience. Additionally, applicants should have a CDL Class B with air brake endorsements and a history of good driving.
McCray is also hiring Yard Pullers, who are responsible for stocking and loading products throughout the lumberyard, assembling customer orders, and more. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED along with one to two years of related experience. Those interested in applying also should be capable of becoming forklift certified.
