Medical Plans: McCray offers a PPO medical plan and a high-deductible health plan (HDHP).

 

Dental & Vision Plans: McCray Lumber offers a dental and vision plan designed to protect you and your family’s oral and vision health.

 

Short-Term & Long-Term Disability: STD & LTD benefits are designed to replace a portion of your income for a non-work related short-term and/or long-term injury or illness.

 

Accident Insurance: If you or a covered dependent experiences a serious non-work-related injury, this coverage provides you with a lump sum payment in accordance with the type of injury.

 

Voluntary Life Insurance: McCray Lumber provides you with an opportunity to purchase additional life insurance on yourself, as well as your spouse and dependent children/

 

Critical Illness Insurance: If you or a covered dependent experiences a serious illness, this coverage provides you with a lump -sum payment to be used for out of pocket expenses.

 

Hospital Indemnity Insurance: When you, your spouse or your child is facing a hospital stay, you can receive a benefit to help pay unexpected expenses not covered by your plan.

 

Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance: Life and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) coverage is provided automatically at no cost to you upon employment.

Employee Discount on Company Products: You may purchase, for personal use only, company products at a discount.

 

Employee Referral Program: We place great importance on referrals because we trust that our employees know what’s best for our company. The Program will pay out up to $2,000.

 

Federal Benefits Services: Advocate Health Advisors offers you independent strategic consulting to help you enroll in Medicare.

Health Savings Account (HSA): The HSA is a personal healthcare bank account you can use to pay out-of-pocket medical expenses, office visits and prescriptions with pre-tax dollars.

 

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA): A healthcare flexible spending account (FSA) is an account in which you set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for eligible healthcare expenses.

 

401(k) Plan: The 401(k) Retirement Plan and the Roth 401(k) Plan Offerings makes it easy to set aside money for your retirement goals.

 

529 Savings Plan: 529 Savings Plans are popular educational savings vehicles with tax advantages. They allow you to save for educational expenses today that your child or family member can use tomorrow.

 

Dependent Care Spending Account: If you need childcare for your dependents to allow you or your spouse to work or attend school full time, you can open a dependent care flexible spending account (FSA). This allows you to be reimbursed on a pretax basis for child care.

Vacation: Full time employees are eligible for vacation time following company policy.

 

Holidays: McCray Lumber recognizes 8 holidays during the plan year.

 

Floating Holidays: Full time employees are eligible for vacation time following company policy.

 

Bereavement: Employees are eligible for up to three days for the loss of an immediate family member and up to 1 day for the loss of an extended family member.

Ryan Hodges

Outside Sales Trainee

Ryan began his career with McCray in 2013 as a Yard Associate, gaining a strong understanding of the products and materials McCray offers. After leaving in 2016 to pursue opportunities related to his degree, he returned in 2021 as a CDL Driver Associate, delivering customer orders and maintaining a high standard of fleet care. Ryan was later promoted to Outside Sales Trainee, where he now applies knowledge from both previous roles to support builders across the Kansas City area.

Philip Smith

Yard Foreman

Philip joined McCray in June 2013 as a Lumber Delivery Driver, where he quickly stood out for his attention to detail and commitment to on-time deliveries. After four years, he was promoted to Dispatcher, overseeing outbound orders and ensuring deliveries were accurate and timely. His strong problem-solving and customer service skills made him a leader for the delivery and yard teams. In December 2021, Philip advanced to Yard Foreman, where he now manages daily yard operations.
